Presentation of my person
My name is Dominic Bilke. I was born in 1984 in Cottbus, Germany, and spent my youth in Senftenberg (Lusatia). In 2004, I completed my *Abitur* (university entrance qualification) at the Senftenberg Gymnasium, focusing on mathematics and computer science. From 2008 to 2014, I studied Computer and Automation Engineering at HTW Dresden, graduating with a *Diplom-Ingenieur (FH)* degree and a "good" grade. Subsequently, I worked in various fields while also refreshing my academic knowledge through further training. I have been registered as a freelance engineer since 2022 and work on a variety of projects. Please download my application documents for more detailed information.

Working as a freelancer!
Freelancers are self-employed professionals who offer their services on a project basis. They can work in different fields, such as graphic design, web development, translation, writing or marketing.
Freelancers usually acquire their customers independently through networks, personal contacts or online platforms. They negotiate the terms and scope of the project with their clients and set the cost.
The work of a freelancer is to fulfill the agreed tasks and complete the project on time and with high quality. They can work from their own office or flexibly from different locations. They often have multiple projects at once and need to organize their time well to meet all requirements.
Freelancers are usually responsible for their own bookkeeping, tax payments, and insurance. Depending on the country, different regulations may apply here.
There are various platforms on which freelancers can offer their services, such as Upwork, Freelancer or Fiverr. These platforms provide a way to find potential customers and make payment processing easier. However, it is also possible to work directly with clients outside of such platforms.
